This very room is what lead me into the world of blogging. I had dreams upon dreams about this here nursery, some good some bad, but always about creating a beautiful room for my daughter. My design board was a cluster of mental notes. My ideas were big. My budget was small...and controlled by my loving husband!
But, I knew exactly what I wanted for her space and I always had my eyes wide open for every budget-friendly, recyclable-worthy piece of furniture, knick-knack and doo-dad that would ultimately make its way into her nursery. The idea to blog the progress of her nursery was an afterthought. The sheer volume of "before and after" projects that I was considering for her nursery needed to be documented and shared, if for no other reason than proof of my hard work a good 'ole pat on the back!
So to recreate something nearly as cute as this.....
I needed to get creative with my money.
I sooo badly wanted this... {source}
LOVE, LOVE LOVE this, but in the name of all things budget, I couldn't bring myself to pay the $850 price tag! Being the huge CList fan that I am, I check there regularly and eventually scored this on CList! It was $50 from a heartbroken grandmother-to-be who bought it for her daughter but her daughter didn't like it! (awwww)! Lucky me (yeaaaa)!
3 cans of primer, 3 cans of cream spray paint and 2 cans of poly and it looked like this!
Oooh, I'm in love already!
PRICE BREAKDOWN
Crib: $50
Spray Paint: $28
TOTAL: $78
