Baby Gift Set + My Other Etsy Store

There's a new addition to my brother's family. My niece, who is 10 years old, asked me to help her make something special for her new cousin.   She asked me to help her create one of my baby gift sets that I often sell in my other Etsy Shop.

I started by creating the baby's inital in Microsoft Word Document with the font style "Accord SF" and enlarged it to 200 font size.  I cut out the letter to create a template to trace onto the backside of the fabric being used for the onesie, blanket and burp cloth.

I used double-stick fusible web to create the appliques that would be used for the onesie.
The circle and the letter "E" were cut out and the letter was positioned on top of the circle.  A liquid adhesive was used around the edges of each applique to minimize fraying.
They were then centered onto the onesie.  A steam iron was used to press the applique permanently onto the onesie.  later, I finished the edges with a red stitch.

BURP CLOTH
Using a standard thick cloth diaper that I pre-washed, I measured the inside center of the diaper to establish how wide I wanted to make the fabric that I planned to add to it.  It measured 18" long and 5" wide.  I cut the fabric accordingly and added 2" to each length for sewing.
I folded each side in an inch and ironed the flaps down.

BLANKET
I stitched the blanket some time ago and didn't take pics.  Sorry folks.  I used recycled fabrics.  A textured quilt/blanket and a rose patterned cotton sheet.
We rolled up the blanket and inserted the onesie and burp cloth into the fold.  The perfect gift bag will finish this off!  My niece is so ready to give this as a gift from her.  She helped and did a great job, so she should be proud.  I'm sure the new parents will be very appreciative.
Enjoy being Prissy!
