Chic Shabby Armoire Redo

I think I'm obssessed with thrifting!  It makes me buy things I don't need.  My garage becomes congested and things start to spill over into my house.  I get afraid to open my garage because I'm sure someone is going to label me a hoarder.  But how do you pass up awesome pieces like this?

This piece was super heavy!!

I gave it a basic coat of antique white, some light distressing and a wax topcoat.  I painted all day and all night (and then some) on this thing for two days straight!! I was working with a deadline.

It really would have been fun to paint this something other than cream, but this was for a client that wanted to place this in her store to display items.  An area of her shop has a chic and shabby theme and this was for that particular area.  She wanted to keep the armoire simple so that the different items on display would stand out.
Don't you just love this chunky knocker?!
Previously a weathered brass, it too got the full paint treatment.

Oooh, all of the things that could possibly go into these cubbies and drawers!  The verticle dividers were removable, so just about anything could adorn these awesome shelves, folks!!

Not too long after it was completed and delivered, someone came into her shop and liked this piece so much that they bought it from her before she could display anything in it for long.  It's pretty exciting to see your item in a store used as part of a vignette and nicely spotlighted by the store's lighting.  I'm currently on the hunt for another piece to recreate for her
