Tea-Dyed Fabric

I blogged recently here that I was going to tea-dye some salvaged fabric from the back of a sofa that was about to be discarded.  Well, I did.  Here's the process and results.

I washed the fabric on warm and dried it on high to maximize shrinkage before covering the chairs.
The dry cycle created lots of fringe that needed to be cut away.
I boiled about 10 tea bags in a pot of water for about 30 minutes.  This was all done on a whim, so I didn't measure the water.
I didn't take pics while the fabric was in the pot.  I was worried the steam would damage my camera or I'd drop the doggone thing in the pot!  Neither one would be a good thing!  I did remember to clip off a piece of the fabric before I dyed it all so that there would be something to compare the finished product to.  This photo doesn't show the contrast very well, but to the naked eye, there is a slight difference.
I like!  Now I'm ready to recover something!!!!
