Everywhere I look, I see this Annie Sloan name alongside the words "chalk paint". It seems like everyone in blogland, DIYers and Refurbishers alike, are have a love affair with this wonderful, creamy awesomeness!
But isn't paint just plain-ole-paint?
As a lover of painted redo's and before-and-afters, I can definitely say that all paints are not alike, but I am embarrassed to say that I know nothing about this thing called chalk paint.
So I took the time to research this wonder to see exactly what it is that I've been missing out on. I started by visiting this Ms. Annie Sloan herself over at her wonderful website and boy have I been missing out!
Wow, look at this range of yummy colors! She even instructs you on how to mix the colors to create even more yummy colors!
It's described as "a unique paint in 24 decorative and historical colours made specifically for painting furniture, painting floors, painting blackboards and for giving walls a completely matte velvety finish". And to think, I've only been using latex this whole time?!? I so need to think outside of the box sometimes.
Here are a few chalk-painted lovlies over at her website.
...and some pretty fabulous beauties around blogland. All painted with Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint!

I'm still having fun with latex and spray paints, so trying chalk paint may be a bit down the line, but trust me, I definitely plan on trying this out. It produces way too many prissy-worthy things not to!
Enjoy being Prissy!
