I left my wallet at home! Enough said.
I could end this post right now and everyone of you thrifters would understand how much of a soul-jerking, emotionally devastating moment I experienced while standing in the middle of my favorite thrift store and realizing that I-LEFT-MY-WALLET-AT-HOME!
Many issues could have come from me leaving my wallet. I could have easily been pulled over for a traffic violation and hauled off to jail by an annoyed officer of the law, simply because I couldn't identify myself. I could have fainted in the middle of the knick-knack isle (I don't know why I would have fainted, but I could have) and nobody would have been able to identify me because I didn't have any I.D.
But no issue more painful than the fact that I-COULDN'T BUY ANYTHING!!
I wanted to cry. I even think I did a little.
I normally find amazing things during my thrifting excursions, but this day seemed remarkably amazing and having no money on me made it a gut wrenching experience. These are just a few of the things I wanted and had to leave behind. After a while, I just stopped taking pictures!
Feel free to cry along with me.
This FABULOUS hand-painted headboard!!
OMG...this was a heavy, queen-sized headboard with so much detail. I could barely slide it out to take this pic. The lighting made for a bad pic, but trust me, it was crazy prissy and only $39!
Vintage Pyrex mixing bowls.
Williams-Sonoma hammered copper napkin Rings for $3
Black/White Upholstry fabric
I did happened to have a few dollars in my pocket, which surely was for something more important like lunch or gas, but I opted to buy this great upholstery fabric anyway. Three yards for $7. That's a bit over $2 a yard! OH YEAH!
I'm still grieving over all of this and sure hope my next thrifting trip turns out better than this one!
Oh no that is such a bummer! I've left my wallet at home before and didn't realize it until I had made it all the way to the store. Hopefully some of those great items will still be there when you go back.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely crying with you over that fantastic headboard. Waaaaaa!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies, I feel the love! I just posted about this very thing (tomorrow's post) and how I don't plan for this to ever happen again. lol! @Rosemary, I still think about where I could have put this headboard!
ReplyDeletebeen there...I am thinking of having my debit card number tatoo'd on my arm so it never happens to me again...:)
