Before and After: Whimsical Clock

Another thrifting find.  I bought it specifically for the ornate design.  It was an old orangey-gold but had soooo much potential!  It was crazy cheap ($) 'cause it was crazy cheap (plastic).  I'm pretty sure I left the price on the back since I do that often, but as I write this post, baby is asleep and said clock is in baby's room...you get my point.

When I found this, I had been decorating my daughter's nursery, so I immediately knew it would fit perfectly with my girly-girl room.  Unfortunately, in the days before deciding to start a blog, I didn't take pics of a lot of my before-and-afters.  Sooo sorry... (insert sad face).  But, this is what I did.

* I sprayed it with a primer good for plastic
*  sprayed it with heirloom white spray paint
*  hand painted the center with a mix of white, pink and brown craft paint for a very subtle dusty pink.
*  hand painted the roman numerals with white craft paint
*  sprayed with a matte top coat
* primed the metal clock hands with the same primer used on the body of the clock
*  spray painted clock hands a gloss black
*reassembled the clock (and of course, put in a new battery)
